Features of Using Stage Speech Prosodic Means in the Stage Character Building

The purpose of the study is to identify how an actor uses prosodic means to build stage character, to characterise the role of prosody in the formation of the semantic structure of stage speech when actors impersonate the character and to determine the impact features on the spectator. Research methodology. The author has applied a complex method of the research of prosodic means of stage speech, a method of system and functional analysis, thanks to which prosody is considered as a unique spectrum of rhythmic-intonation properties of stage speech in the context of stage character building by an actor; typological method that contributed to the study of prosodic characteristics as factors in the formation of the semantic structure of stage speech. Scientific novelty. The article studies prosodic means of stage speech semantic structure application; analyses the components of intonation as an important component of the prosodic characteristic of stage speech, in particular, specifies the specifics of the use of the tempo-rhythmic structure of speech, pausing, timbre, tone, etc. in the process of building a stage character by the actor. Conclusions. Prosodic means of stage speech following the specifics of their use by the actor in the process of building a stage character is a kind of basis for the emergence of true stage feelings, means of revealing the inner world of the character, and as dynamic and transformational elements can change according to stage action and temporal characteristics).
