Genus Amischa Thomson, 1858 Amischa Thomson, 1858: 33 (type species: Aleochara analis Gravenhorst, 1802). Colposura Casey, 1894: 336 (type species: Colposura praelonga Casey, 1894). Diagnosis. Members of the genus Amischa can be distinguished from other athetine genera by combination of the following characters: head subtriangular, dilated basally; eyes small, distinctly shorter than temples; antennomeres 4–10 transverse or subquadrate; ligula short, broad and entire; prementum without lateral pseudopores; pronotal pubescence directed posteriorly in midline; hypomeron partially visible in lateral aspect; mesocoxal cavities unmargined in most species; abdominal tergites II–VI without anterior macrosetae, VI not impressed in basal region; posterior margin of tergite VIII emarginate in most species; and median lobe of aedeagus with distal crest almost perpendicular to apical process and facing upward, proximal crest long (Benick & Lohse, 1974; Yosii & Sawada, 1976; Ashe, 2001; Assing, 2021).
