A Study on Challenges Faced by the Education Sector Concerning Digitalization in India

Technology keeps on advancing and is becoming an essential part of our lives. People make use of it every day to improve on the way they accomplish specific tasks. It is sweeping fast in different spheres and almost everything is based on its usage and application. For instance, the way teachers use technology in classrooms to upgrade the teaching procedure and refine learning method of students. Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) or Digital Education is the innovative use of digital tools and technologies during teaching and learning. Digital Education is making its way into the education system of India and is taking the place of traditional classroom teaching. In today’s information and communication technology era, digital learning plays a vital role in the development of an individual and thus future of the nation. To make the learning process effective and achieve teaching objectives, there is a necessity of change to happen in the individual’s behavior with the enhancement of knowledge, skills, insights, and ideas. Today’s learners enjoy easier and effective access to information, extended mobile leaning opportunities, immediate giving and receiving of feedback and greater motivation towards learning. This change in education system has produced vast advantage in terms of making students confident to compete in the dynamic world. However, there is a flip side of it as well. Students are not focused most of the time during class lectures and they do not give expected regard to their teachers. The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of digital education from the learners’ perspective, to evaluate the recent digital learning process methodologies, and to examine the challenges faced by learners in the process.
