Ungdomars psykiska ohälsa i det moderna samhället

Abstract We are with this paper trying to identify some factors that have an influence on youths mental health. Our theoretical starting points are about how school, family, work, individualization, media and lifestyle effect youths mental health. This paper is based on three deep interviews and former reports. The result show how individualization in the community cause insecurity and the family band are breaking up more than before. Youth’s health effects negative by the ability to not get a job. Our results show the importance of good family relations which are the most important thing for youth’s health. The youth’s with good family relations can therefore resist the stress established by the community. The family however can’t resist the effect individualization, media and lifestyle shape because it does internalize into every person. Because of the increase of the youth’s illness they drink even more, boys commit more suicides and the girls are using more pills for depression. The reason seams to be the norms the community ascribe the gender. Keywords: youths, mental health, modern community.Syftet med denna uppsats är att försöka identifiera ett antal faktorer som påverkar ungdomars psykiska ohälsa. Våra teoretiska utgångspunkter behandlar hur skola, familj, arbete, individualiseringen, media och livsstil påverkar ungdomars psykiska ohälsa. Uppsatsen bygger på tre djupintervjuer samt tidigare undersökningar. Resultatet visar på att individualiseringen i samhället skapar otrygghet och att familjeband bryts i större utsträckning. Ungdomarnas hälsa påverkas även negativt av arbetslösheten, som ökat bland ungdomar. Vårt resultat visar att den största orsaken till ungdomars psykiska ohälsa är dåliga familjerelationer. Den som har trygga band till familjen och får stöd och uppmärksamhet hemifrån klarar lättare att stå emot samhällets stress. Något som familjen dock inte kan påverka enligt vårt resultat är den stress som individualisering, livsstil och media skapar bland dagens individer eftersom det internaliseras. Den ökade psykiska ohälsan har resulterat i att alkoholen ökat bland ungdomarna och killarna begår fler självmord medan tjejerna konsumerar mer antidepressiva medel och anledningen till detta tycks ligga i de normer samhället tillskriver könet
