The new species is similar to N. amatella (Staudinger, 1892) and N. latirectangula sp. nov. in appearance. It can be distinguished by the tegumen with a triangular plate extending from posterior 3/5 to 1/4, which is absent in N. amatella and semicircular in N. latirectangula. It can be further distinguished from N. amatella by the sacculus narrowed to near the apex of the ventral margin, and the phallus with a pair of sclerotized belts and denticles; in N. amatella, the sacculus reaches basal 1/5 of the ventral margin, and the phallus lacks sclerotized belts and denticles. It can be further distinguished from N. latirectangula by the ventral margin of the valva obliquely straight, and the transtilla narrowly banded; in N. latirectangula, the ventral margin of the valva is roundly convex at basal 1/5 and 1/3, and the transtilla is broad rectangular. Description. Adult (Fig. 7). Male wingspan 16.5−23.0 mm. Head: Vertex black; frons golden yellow. Eye interocular index 0.40−0.56. Proboscis brown, with yellow scales in basal 1/4. Labial palpus 1.2−1.4 × vertical eye diameter; first and second palpomeres yellowish brown, with black hairs; third palpomere black. Antenna 3.6−4.2 × length of forewing; scape purplish bronzy except golden yellow on ventral surface; flagellum grayish brown except dark yellowish brown in basal 1/6. Thorax: Mesonotum and tegula golden yellow. Forewing ground color yellowish brown to dark yellowish brown; three silvery gray streaks edged with black scales, with golden luster: first streak from base to near middle along costal margin, second streak from base to 4/5 of cell along posterior margin, third streak from near base to 2/5 of wing along 1A+2A; four black lines: first line from base to beyond 2/5 of wing along R 1, second line from base to 4/5 of cell along anterior margin, enlarged apically and forming an elliptical spot, with gray scales inside, third line from base near posterior to 3/4 of cell, fourth line from near base to near middle of wing along CuP; fasciae slightly sinuate, inner and outer fasciae silvery gray, edged with dark brown scales, medial fascia pale orange yellow, margined by dark brown lines; dense black scales forming several stripes along veins from beyond outer fascia to near apex; fringe dark brown. Hindwing grayish brown except light brown between costal margin and Rs; fringe brown. Foreleg with coxa yellow, femur pale yellow ventrally, bronzy dorsally, tibia yellow ventrally, purplish bronzy dorsally, tarsus yellow; midleg yellow except tibia purplish bronzy dorsally; hindleg yellow except tibia brown apically. Epiphysis brown, at basal 1/3 of tibia, not reaching apex of tibia. Abdomen: Dark brown. Male genitalia (Fig.32). Socius ovoid, length × 1.67 width.Tegumen without median ridge, with a large triangular plate extending from posterior 3/5 to 1/4. Uncus triangular, subtriangularly concave anteriorly, pointed posteriorly. Valva separated basally, pointed at apex, concave in middle on costal margin, obliquely straight on ventral margin; sacculus narrowed to near apex of ventral margin. Transtilla slightly concave in middle on anterior margin; median process narrow triangular, reaching posterior 2/5 of tegumen apically. Vinculum 2.7 × length of valva, broadly rounded anteriorly. Phallus 1.1 × length of vinculum, almost straight, curved ventrad in distal 1/8, swollen at base, with a pair of sclerotized belts from distal 2/5 to 1/9 and denticles at distal 1/5, with a belt of short spines at distal 1/6; vesica round (Fig. 32a). Juxta 0.61 × length of phallus; lateral arm 0.19 × length of arrow head. Female unknown. Distribution. China (Gansu, Hebei, Henan, Jilin, Ningxia, Shaanxi). Etymology.
