Background: Blunt cerebrovascular injuries are rare and serious complications of trauma that can lead to cerebral vascular dissection or aneurysm. Improving awareness of blunt cerebrovascular injuries and using computed tomography angiography to pre-screen patients at high risk is recommended by current guidelines to prevent the occurrence of ischemic stroke complications. Case description: A 32-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital following neck trauma accompanied by stroke symptoms. Imaging revealed intimal injury of the right common carotid artery and acute cerebral infarction.
