Research purpose was to study the presence and local levels of inflammation markers (cytokines) in the anterior chamber and blood in patients with penetrating corneal wound. Material and methods. Thirty patients aged 24-55 years (mean age 31.2 ± 0.34 years) with penetrating corneal wound for 1-2 days from the moment of trauma were examined. The control group consisted of 30 patients aged 38-55 years (mean age 43.9 ± 0.21 years) hospitalized for surgical treatment - phacoemulsification of cataract without concomitant pathology.
