Forces and moments affecting a submerged body by liquid can have a significant effect on the nature of its movement when thesubmergenceis little. The study considers the movement of submerged bodies with various cross-sectional shapes near the free surface of water, using the methods of experimental and numerical simulation. We numerically analysed the influence of the hydrodynamic pressure field formed around the body on the wave pattern when moving at different speeds, and determined the dependence of the wave resistance coefficient for models with given parameters.
