Type host: “ Rattus cremoriventer ” = Niviventer cremoriventer (Miller, 1900) —Dark-tailed tree rat. Malaysian host: Niviventer cremoriventer. Malaysian localities: Tenompak, Gunung Kinabalu, Ulu Kaingaran, Pampang & Ranau (Sabah) Malaysian Borneo (Johnson 1964). Geographical distribution: India (Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, West Bengal States), Laos, Malaysian Borneo, Nepal (Mishra 1981; Durden & Musser 1994; Price & Graham 1997). Remarks: The adult male and female of Hoplopleura sicata were described and illustrated by Johnson (1964). Johnson (1972) described and illustrated all three nymphal instars. To date, the original description is the only record of Hoplopleura sicata in Malaysia.
