The stereograph features a black and white image of reindeer and men standing in snow against a background of trees and mountains. These reindeer were purchased from Norway in response to legislation that William McKinley signed in 1897. The reindeer were to carry supplies to gold miners across the Chilkoot Pass to the newly established town of Dawson, Alaska in response to rumors that the miners were starving and without supplies. The image is mounted on an orange card with rounded corners. Includes descriptive information on the card\u27s reverse.https://scholarsjunction.msstate.edu/fvw-photographs/1104/thumbnail.jp
