An original piece of artwork depicting Abraham Lincoln, General Egbert Viele, Secretary of the Treasury Chase, and Secretary of War Stanton aboard the Miami. In the drawing, Lincoln is shown taking personal command of the Union troops during the Peninsular Campaign, 6 May 1862. The artist, Charles Stanley Reinhart, was commissioned to create the piece by Scribner\u27s Monthly Magazine. It appeared alongside General Viele\u27s recollections of the war and was published in the October 1878 edition of the magazine. The object is enclosed in a gold frame and cream mat.https://scholarsjunction.msstate.edu/fvw-drawings/1005/thumbnail.jp
