Sheridan\u27s Ride to Cedar Creek (from the History of the Civil War Medal Collection)

The medal\u27s obverse design depicts General Philip Sheridan seated on horseback while holding a sword with his proper right hand. Soldiers stand at his side as Sherman gestures in front of him. An United States flag is also pictured in the background. On the reverse, Confederate and United States flags are pictured intersecting at the top of the medal. Several rifles appear behind the flags, and the image of an eagle is placed at the center of the intersection.
