A Farewell to Springfield Commemorative Medal (from The Life of Lincoln Medallic Biography Collection)

The medal\u27s obverse features a design after Lloyd Ostendorf\u27s original artwork that depicts Lincoln delivering a speech from a train car. On the reverse, a short excerpt from Lincoln\u27s Farewell Address, delivered as he boarded a train at the Great Western Railroad station, appears. A laurel wreath borders the lower half of the medal. The medal is mounted in a leather slipcase album, which is Volume II of a two-volume set.
