The print is a reproduction of an 1860 political cartoon. In the cartoon, Abraham Lincoln is shown entering a pawn broker shop. Above the shop\u27s door, three globes display the names of Stephen Douglas, John Breckinridge, and John Bell. In Lincoln\u27s proper right hand, he carries an ax. He also carries several rails over his proper left shoulder that are labeled as Chicago Platform, Stock in Trade, Tribune, and Sambo. A dog with a man\u27s face tells Lincoln, Three to one, you don\u27t get it meaning that Lincoln will not be able to redeem his rails for the 1860 Presidential Election win. The print is organized and stored in a black album with other reproductive prints.https://scholarsjunction.msstate.edu/fvw-cartoons/1145/thumbnail.j...
