Relación de los componentes básicos del hábitat con la densidad de Odocoileus virginianus, Zimmermann (1780) en cuatro áreas boscosas

In the forestry companies where the presence of the white-tailed deer (Olocoideus virginianus) has been reported, no in-depth field studies have been carried out that allow us to interpret the relationship between the vegetation and this introduced species, which is why we set ourselves the objective evaluate the relationship of the structural parameters of the vegetation with the density of deer. For this, a field study was carried out in 4 different wooded areas in the months from November 2021 to March 2022. 25 species were identified as part of the diet, feeding on leaves, shoots, stems and fruits, being the Rubiaceae family the most important, the role played by the vegetation for food and shelter was determined, where the results were obtained that the variables that contribute the most are the number of food plants, height of the understory and canopy cover, the two the former turned out to be of greater importance. The semi-deciduous forest showed a greater capacity to house a high number of specimens in the less rainy season, this may mean a negative impact since these levels exceed the carrying capacity.En las empresas forestales donde se ha reportado la presencia del venado de cola blanca (Odocoideus virginianus) no se han realizado con profundidad estudios de campo que permitan interpretar la relación existente entre la vegetación y esta especie introducida, es por ello que nos trazamos como objetivo evaluar la relación de los parámetros estructurales de la vegetación con la densidad de venados. Para ello se realizó un estudio de campo en 4 áreas boscosas diferentes durante los meses de noviembre del 2021 hasta marzo del 2022. Fueron identificadas 25 especies formando parte de la dieta, alimentándose de hojas, brotes, tallos y frutos, siendo la familia Rubiaceae la más importante, se determinó el papel que juega la vegetación para la alimentación y refugio, donde se obtuvieron como resultados que las variables que más aportan son, número de plantas alimenticias, altura del sotobosque y cobertura del dosel, las dos primeras resultaron ser de mayor importancia. El bosque semideciduo mostró mayor capacidad para albergar un número elevado de ejemplares en la época menos lluviosa, esto puede significar un impacto negativo ya que estos niveles sobrepasan la capacidad de carga
