This study characterizes teachers in professional-level higher education in the Orinoquia region. To do so, data from the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTI), the National Ministry of Education (MEN), and the National System of Higher Education Information (SNIES) from 2019 to 2020 were traced. These data were analyzed from a gender perspective in terms of level of education, teaching, and research. The methodology had a quantitative research design, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques.
