Attachment startegies and its application to schooling

This bachelor thesis knowledge area is children's attachment in the preschool schooling of young children. This thesis is focusing on the strategies of achieving a good attachment during the schooling of young children to the preschool environment and to the chosen teacher. We also put focus on how pedagogues describe how they treat the children in order for them to feel safe during schooling in front of their new group of children. This thesis is based on the theory of attachment made by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth. The purpose of this thesis was to find out what strategies they use to build a good attachment to the young children being schooled into the preschool environment. The thesis questions of issue was: • What strategies are used by preschool staff during the building of an attachment to the young children during the schooling to the preschool environment? • How do pedagogues describe how they treat the children in order for them to feel safe during schooling in front of their new group of children. The method used during this thesis was the method of qualitative. The qualitative method was used in the way of interviews with preschool staff of ongoing schooling of young children. During our analysis of the collected material we could form a conclusion on how and what strategies they used to build an attachment to the children during their schooling to the preschool enviroment. The conclusion we came to was that the use of strategies and structure of the schoolings differed based on how long the schooling period was and what the pedagogues priorities during that time. We also found that the period of an ongoing schooling was viewed as something time consuming and problematic for the rest of the group of children.
