The main goal of this PhD thesis is to reproduce as accurately as possible a sound field recorded by a microphone array with a loudspeaker array. To achieve this goal, we have made a complete study of harmonic and integral sound field representations. Then, we propose new sound field analysis and synthesis algorithms, which use the plane wave representation. The proposed analysis uses a beamforming algorithm which gives an analytical solution to the problem of the minimization of spatial aliasing. The optimization of the microphone array geometry is also discussed. The synthesis algorithm is a flexible multichannel equalization algorithm that reduces traditional artifacts such as pre-echo and post-echos. Finally, the efficiency of our appro...
