Coarse grained soils are caracterised by the presence of over sized particles in the material. The size of these elements can vary beetwen a fiew centimemeters and a meter. Because of the presence of these coarse elements in the soil, the mechanical characterization of it presents some difficulties. One of these is the choice of a representative elementary volume for testing. This work focus on a kind of coarse granular soils wich composed of coarse elements (inclusion) emdaded in a matrix soil.
