This work is dedicated to the study of the diffraction of acoustic waves by a set of small inclusions, as well as to the development of numerical methods for the simulation of such phenomenons. The main novelty of this work is that we deal with time-domain waves.The first part of this manuscript deals with the asymptotic analysis of the diffraction problem, which is carried out by matched asymptotics, the small parameter being the characteristic size of the defects ε. This furnishes an asymptotic expansion of the acoustic field as a perturbation of the defect-free problem.
