In this thesis, the research activity, focused on two investigations topics, both addressed to the preparation and characterization of poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) based nano-materials for biomedical applications, is reported. In particular, the research deals with the preparation of a new polymeric substrate for vaccine (line 1) and superparamagnetic nanoparticles-PLLA core-shell nanocomposites for targeted and controlled release of anti-tumor drugs (line 2).The polymer we used in both the researches, the poly (L-lactide) (PLLA), is one of the most investigated synthetic product in the biomedical field because of its good mechanical properties, biocompatibility and biodegradability.
