Does Halalness Affect the Intention of the Young Muslim Generation to Use the COVID-19 Vaccine?

The young Muslim generation is quite a large population that determines the intention of using the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia. This study analyzes the effect of halal awareness, halal certificate, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and vaccine quality on the intention of the young Muslim generation to use the COVID-19 vaccine. This study involved 699 respondents from the young Muslim generation randomly assigned to 32 provinces in Indonesia. This research model develops Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with PLS-SEM data processing tools. The results showed that halal awareness and halal certificates had a P-value 0.10 or does not affect the intention to use halal vaccines. Islamic values remain a consideration for the young Muslim generation in using the COVID-19 vaccine. Therefore, the government needs to include halal aspects in determining policies related to the implementation of vaccinations for the young Muslim generation
