Learning of chemistry is a complex process probably due to its conceptual difficulty, consequently teachers must reflect about the Institutional pedagogical task, in order to reformulate the strategies used, in this way the purpose of this work was determine the effectiveness of the research as a Pedagogical Strategy (IEP) in learning an organic chemistry content. Theoretically, it was based on the guidelines of the Ondas program, the standards, and basic learning rights emanating from the Colombian Ministry of National Education and learning through inquiry, (Hume VII; Dewey, 1910; French & Russell, 2002).
