The purpose of this study is to make available more information on the stratigraphy and paleontology of the Walnut and Comanche Peak formations. The stratigraphy was studied with the hope of gaining a clear knowledge of the succession of beds as well as their thickening and thinning. The paleontology was studied, not so much in the search of new material, but in order to work out the ranges of previously described fossils and to determine their occurrence with reference to certain lithological horizons. The area under consideration is aligned north-south, more or less along the line of strike of the Walnut and Comanche Peak formations.
