Dissolved oxygen (DO) is an overall indicator of stream water quality and ecosystem health. The Freshwater Stream Oxygen Model (FSOM) in an Excel-based Software that presents simple mathematical models to predict dissolved oxygen concentrations (miligrams per liter) in freshwater streams and rivers. The input data only require any amount of stream water temperature (degree C) and pH (unitless) observations. A user can simply plug in their stream water temperature data, which is often readily available, and their pH data to calculate oxygen dissolved in their stream locations.
