Metagenomic identification of fecal microbiota signatures with postoperative recurrence of pancreatic cancer on the basis of a case–control study

This study aims to investigate the microbial effect in pancreatic cancer (PC) progression (e.g., metastasis or recurrence) during adjuvant chemotherapy after surgical resection. It also explores the occurrence of antibiotic resistance in fecal samples from patients with PC. Here, we used a metagenomics approach to profile the microbial community, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) related to the mobilization of ARGs in fecal samples from patients with PC with and without metastatic cancer and their spouses or family members (as control).
