This term paper discusses the dissolution of marriages as a contemporary issue of concern. It reiterates the alarming rate of divorce in the nation, pointing attention to the all-high reported figures. The causes of divorce are found to cut across religious, financial, temperamental and personality backdrops. The effects of divorce are very pervasive on the women, children, men and members of extended family. The procedure for obtaining divorce in the nation was also discussed. Finally, the strategies for handling divorce were enumerated. These formed the basis for making recommendations. </p
