On May 1st, 2022, I conducted my Senior Percussion Recital as a joint fulfillment of the Honors College Thesis and my BM in Percussion Performance. The study of percussion performance is vast in scope because of the proficiency required for a wide variety of instruments. This recital is a demonstration of proficiency in three main categories of instruments: mallets, drums, and timpani. The process analysis below will discuss the selection and preparation of pieces, and the determining of performance order. Each of these aspects came with careful consideration, which helps with the overall artistic statement of the recital.
