This article focuses on the thermal model of a synchronous generator with permanent magnets and external ventilation. The model was made in the commercial software Ansys Fluent. The model is validated by measuring a real machine. For this purpose, three heating tests with different cooling parameters were measured of which is only one presented. Due to the sufficient temperature reserve, the machine's nominal flow, half flow, and self-ventilation were chosen. The aim of the work was to tune the model to a numerical model and a real machine
