ObjectiveTuberculosis diagnosis requires rapid, simple and highly sensitive methods. Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPRs) and associated protein (Cas) systems are increasingly being used for clinical diagnostic applications, due to their high flexibility, sensitivity and specificity.
