The aim was to investigate the clinical characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients who were admitted to a designated hotel, and to clarify the risk factors for hospitalization of such patients with clinical deterioration. The medical records of COVID-19 patients who were admitted to the designated hotel in Mie Prefecture, Japan, between August 2020 and September 2021 were reviewed retrospectively.
