This article endeavours to explore the originality of María Zambrano’s writing. The indissoluble union of her thought and her life and a total adherence to reality allows her, in her philosophical essays, to do away with the overly constraining rules and dry rationality of discursivity insofar as they threaten the literary form, and to reproduce the stream of thoughts and words through different registers and tonalities. Her intense desire to share goes beyond the mere evidence of normal scientific discourse and makes use of cadence, rhythm and tone as essential components of her writing
