The topic of the presentation is the Persistence of Economic elites. The research try to define an objective methodology to identify/characterize actors belonging to economic elitesby applying quantitative methods to qualitative data on the entrepreneurial system of the South of Italy over the 19th century. Thus, the paper is the result of a complex historical research with application of Social Network Analysis and Econometric methodologies
