Ni-Co alloys are used in shielding of leading edge of helicopter blades, due to their good corrosion and wear resistance, mechanical strength and magnetic properties. These binary alloys form a solid solution with a face-centered cubic structure when the cobalt content is less than about 70 %. The study materials Ni, Ni-20Co and Ni-50Co were produced by fusion, before undergoing cold rolling deformation, and annealing at 850 °C. They are characterized by a microstructure with a grain size between 5 and 14 µm, a high fraction of Σ3 boundaries, a low stress state and an absence of texture.
