International audienceThis article deals with the microwave heating technique applied to ceramic processes: synthesis, brazing, drying, sintering, etc. Microwave/matter interactions are discussed in order to understand the peculiarities of this heating mode. The multiphysical nature of the process and the interest of modeling are discussed with a view to improving the microwave heating technique and the process in general. Different examples are treated such as drying and debinding raw ceramic parts by microwave heating.
