Les joueurs de rugby sont soumis à de multiples impacts sur la tête et le cou qui peuvent les exposer à un risque accru de blessure. Ces impacts répétés peuvent induire des microtraumatismes affectant la moelle épinière et le cerveau. Dans cette étude, nous avons utilisé des techniques complémentaires d'imagerie par résonance magnétique, ainsi que des simulations biomécaniques pour étudier les effets de ces microtraumatismes chez des joueurs de rugby.Les joueurs ont montré une plus grande incapacité au niveau du cou, ainsi qu'un vieillissement précoce et une dégénérescence structurelle de la moelle et du cerveau, par rapport aux témoins sains appariés en âge.
