The Ecological Network covers the whole territory, the elements that form it are identifiable at the different scales. It represents the fundamental element of the Green Infrastructure, an equipped macro-network that can perform multiple functions. The planning implementation and management of EN and GI contributes to opposing climate change such as the decrease in rainfall, the increase in extreme weather events and the urban heat island effect. Therefore, their protection, environmental regeneration and/or implementation represents a concrete possibility both to mitigate the effects in the short term and to affect the causes in the long one.
