Since the last decades, fluorine chemistry has gained a huge interest. This atom with such peculiar properties can be found in life sciences as well as in materials. On the other hand, selenium atom is a necessary trace element for human, if assimilate in small quantities. For these reasons, SeCF3 moiety, synthesized for the first time in the 50’s, is now gaining a particular interest over scientific community, mostly for its potential in medicinal chemistry field. The high Hansch-Leo lipophilicity parameters of trifluoromethylselenolated moieties, superior to the trifluoromethylated chalcogens analogues, are the main characteristic justifying such interest concerning this moiety.
