The Implementation of English at Department of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism of Banyumas Regency to Promote Tourist Destinations

The writer did the job training at Department of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism of Banyumas Regency (Dinporabudpar Banyumas) on 15 February – 15 March 2021. Dinporabudpar Banyumas is a government agency that handles various fields; they are youth, sports, culture, and tourism. The writer implemented English to promote tourist destinations at Dinporabudpar Banyumas. The writer used methods of observation, interview, and documentation. From the results of observations and interviews, the writer got some information about each historical and religious tourist destinations in Banyumas, and the writer also got some pictures of each historical and religious tourist destinations to be included in the leaflet. In carrying out the job training, the writer has known the duties of the tourism promotion section team of Dinporabudpar Banyumas, one of them is to carry out promotional activities for tourist destinations in Banyumas. The writer also knew the promotions that have been carried out by Dinporabudpar Banyumas, most of information is presented in Indonesian and Javanesse language. Therefore, the writer decided to created a promotional leaflet about tourist destinations in Banyumas using two languages they are English and Indonesian to make it easy the foreign tourists and also local tourist to understand the information in the leaflet. The writer faces several obstacles, the writer is not proficient in creating leaflet designs, lack of coordination with the tourism promotion section department at the beginning of project, lack of use of English in tourism promotion activities at Dinporabudpar Banyumas. The writer's solution to dealing with these obstacles is to learn to design leaflets by looking at tutorials on the internet, the writers immediately make revisions after being corrected by the tourism promotion section department through the editor application, and the writers take the initiative to create new products, leaflets that use two languages, Indonesian and English
