Bislang ist relativ wenig über den Einfluss verschiedener Futtermittel auf Menge und Qualität von Ziegenmilch bekannt. Am Thünen-Institut für ökologischen Landbau (TI), in Trenthorst, Deutschland, wird seit 2009 mit Milchziegen zu dem Motto „Feed no Food“ geforscht.
