Potential use of cable yarding systems in Romania

Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit war die Abschätzung des Potenzials für die Seilbringung bei der Holzernte in Rumänien. Ausgehend von einer Detailstudie im Forstbezirk Suceava der nationalen Forstverwaltung Romsilva wurden die Ergebnisse auf ganz Rumänien übertragen. Für die digitale Geländeanalyse wurde ein Limit für die bodengestützte Holzrückung mit 40% festgelegt. Zusätzlich wurde ein Mindestholzanfall von 0,5 m3/lfm Tragseil angestrebt eine Grenze für die Rückedistanz zwischen Schlittenwinde und Mastseilgerät mit 600 m gewählt. Gleichzeitig wurden die Analysen betreffend des Holzanfalles in zwei Szenarien aufgeteilt. Für das Mastseilgerät Syncrofalke wurde mit einer Produktivität von 17 m3/PSH15 bzw. für die Schlittenwinde mit 13 m3/PSH15 kalkuliert. Für die Kalkulation der Produktivitäten wurden Modelle aus der Literatur und für den Holzanfall Inventurdaten herangezogen. Das Resultat ergab ein Potenzial von 13 Mastseilgeräten und 39 Schlittenwinden im ersten Szenario bzw. 38 Mastseilgeräte und 120 Schlittenwinden im zweiten Szenario. Zusätzlich wurden auch die Installationszeiten der Maschinen berücksichtigt.This master thesis focuses on the potential use of using cable yarding systems and the share of harvestable volume which can be extracted in Romania. The case study was done in a subunit of the National Forestry Administration Romsilva (Brodina) situated in Suceava district, North of Romania. In the analysis a slope gradient of 40% was set as a limit for the ground based harvesting systems, 0.5 m3/m of the skyline as efficiency ratio and 600 m for the splitting of tower yarders and sledge winches. Two scenarios were considered; the most suitable cases and the potential volumes according to the suitable area. Using the shares of the area with the slope gradient higher than 40% for the analyzed area and the total forest area of Romania, the results were extrapolated to the whole harvestable volume of Romania for 2008 which has a total volume of 18.5 million m3. Using the volumes that can be harvested with tower yarders and sledge winches in the 2 scenarios, the tower yarder Syncrofalke productivity of 17 m3/PSH15 and a mounting/demounting time of 5 hours and 34, the sledge winch Gantner HSW 80 productivity of 13 m3/PSH15 and a mounting/demounting time of 18 hours and 20, is calculated the needed number of tower yarders and sledge winches for harvesting the volume resulted.
