The communication reports the partial results of a research process derived from an interpretive exercise of the papers presented at the Congress on the Teaching of Biology and Environmental Education, between the 2011 and 2019 versions, developed in Bogotá, Colombia, whose objective is to identify the perspectives in the teaching of biology, applying content analysis. The perspectives presented in descending order according to their frequency are: didactic, cultural, and content-focused. They are highlighting the critical nature of the authors of the examined writings, who tend to teach biology in terms of solving contextualized problems, where different worldviews can converge, aimed at solving issues related to current power exercises.
