The article describes the main aspects of uneven wear of the blade working bodies of tillage machines. The main goal of the research is to outline the reasons that affect a higher intensity of top wear of the cutting element. Their analysis revealed the formation of compacted soil volume and its impact on the character wear top and bottom faces of the blade cultivating working body plows, cultivators, harrows difficult.
