Тhe paper analyses the problems related to return of the cultural objects, which arise in the legal system of the Republic of Lithuania. The analysis deals with the issues of the relations between the domestic law, international law and the law of the European Union. Special attention is devoted to the influence of the UNIDROIT Convention on stolen or illegally exported cultural objects, Council Directive 2014/60/ЕU on the return of cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a Member State, and international treaties with provisional application.
