Within- and between-group effects for pain assessed via a computerized visual analog scale (COVAS, left) and electrodermal activity (EDA, right). Offset analgesia was reduced in the hyperalgesic group as reflected by a less pronounced difference in pain (averaged of 25-34s interval) between offset trials (OT) and constant trials (CT). Upper comparisons denote between-group comparisons: The hyperalgesic group experienced more pain than the control and hypoalgesic groups.
