Education of Preschool Children with Cerebral Palsy

This bachelor thesis focuses on the education of preschool children with cerebral palsy in different educational settings. These are a mainstream nursery school and a day care centre. The essential aim is to find out, how much the choice of pre-school setting affects two children with the same diagnosis in their development and social skills. The work consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes cerebral palsy including its etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and specific manifestations, that are typical for children with cerebral palsy. It also explains the system of preschool education in Czechia and options for children with cerebral palsy. The practical part deals with the characteristics of pre-school educational institutions and detailed anamnestic data. It is implemented by qualitative research, in the form of two case studies. Semi-structured interviews with parents and teaching staff, participant observation of children and document analysis are used for data collection.
