The topic of the bachelor thesis is a comparison of acquisition and operating costs of traditional, low-energy, passive and zero-energy houses. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one consists of a literature research, which provides the necessary information regarding definitions, history, characteristics and advantages and disadvantages of individual building standards. In addition, this section provides general information on design, material and technological possibilities during construction. The practical part is based on the acquisition and operating costs of individual building standards for the two most frequently represented types of detached houses. The result of this paper is the calculation of a simple return on investment and the decision tree, which should facilitate decision-making on the choice of the standard
