Vitrage as a basic for series of creative lesson on Elementary Art School (theoretical-project thesis)

The following dissertation thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part firstly examines stained glass as an architectural element. The attention is mainly paid to the Bohemian folklore glass painting, which was an integral part of the historical development of glass painting in our country. Furthermore, it focuses on the stained glass as a subject matter in art. This concerns the development of glazing window-apertures from the oldest references and proofs of using such methods to the modern impulses of the 20th century. Secondly, the theoretical part discusses art activities in art classes as well as their relation to the Framework Education Programme. Finally, minor attention is given to project-based learning at art schools together with the historical view of this issue. The practical part of this thesis aims to introduce stained glass as a specific subject matter of art series in pursuance of activities at art schools. Firstly, the organisation, preparation and partial realisation of lessons are discussed. Secondly, the particular lessons and their reflections are described.
