The Motif of a Cat in the Stories of Antonia Barber, Holly Webb and Sheila Norton

The aim of this work is a comparative analysis of selected works of contemporary English children's literature, focusing on the motif of a cat as the main character in children's stories. The theoretical part of the thesis briefly discusses the development of children's literature in which the animal hero appears. It also introduces the life and personality of the authors. The practical part of the work is divided into three chapters, according to the individual authors, and it contains the analysis of selected works and the assessment of the function of the cat motif in individual stories
