Regional policy of the European Union - Region of South Bohemia and its cooperation with foreign partners

The first goal of the bachelor thesis is the illustration of the regional policy of the European Union, which is focused on the essential existence and functioning of regions. A great deal of attention is given to the regional development and to its financing through EU structural funds and operational programmes.The second part of the thesis is focused on the Region of South Bohemia, its current regional policy, its membership in two euroregions, its most important foreign partners and it indicates the areas of current and possible future co-operation. The text is based on the analysis of official documents of foreign co-operation, on documents of direct negotiations between regional representatives and on the survey focused on the concrete trans-border co-operation of South-Bohemian towns and municipalities with their foreign partners
